Leading in a crisis
Leading within a crisis takes calm, patience, and, most importantly, 'dirt under your fingernails'. Leaders need to get directly involved in the main work. Not to be some born-again micro-manager fiend, but to clearly communicate that you recognize there is an issue and that a strong response is required.
Leaders respond to what is required, not what they require. It takes high emotional and organizational intelligence and sensitivity to shifts in internal and external resources and the reality of the external environment.
Hold lightly to your plans, we live in rapidly changing times.
